For your child, play is a serious business!
It's about him or her exploring their world.
We like you to have fun at our Sure Start centres.
Indoor play
We run lots of fun and exciting sessions throughout the week for you to come to with your child. There’s everything from singing, rhyming and musical fun, to playing with water, sticking and making, painting, and even edible play! Your child can learn new action songs, dance to the latest music, get stuck in the play tunnel and jump into the ball pool. We also have loads of games and toys for everyone, from babies to four year olds.
Big on books
Babies and young children like books. Reading a book with your child can give them special quiet time with you. We’ve lots of great books at all our centres. We can also give you tips on how to use books with your baby.
(Almost) free books and toys
We have a free Bedford library visit pack for you. You can also become a member of Southway Resource Centre through Sure Start, where you can borrow toys for a minimal amount.
Outdoor play
Fresh air is great for little people. That’s why we have outdoor play spaces at both our centres, with lots of outdoor toys like bikes and trikes. We also encourage little green fingers with gardening, growing and planting.
Footie mad dad?
We run some activities ‘specially for dads, including a football session. Just ask any of our staff for further details. Dads and granddads are welcome to any of our regular weekly groups.
