Health

Your health and your child’s health is important.

Want to stay or get into shape for being a parent or carer?

Here are some ideas.

healthy eating

Staying well

We can offer guidance on what to eat when you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, as well as tips on weaning and healthy eating at home. We run sessions on nutrition and fitness, which are fun and relaxed. We’ll also weigh your baby for you and listen to any health concerns you have. If you’re pregnant, you can get a convenient check-up from our qualified midwife. We offer a baby massage group, which is good for you and your baby. All our groups offer healthy snacks, as well.

giving up smoking

Giving up smoking

Thinking about giving up smoking? Over half of all children in the UK live in a smoky atmosphere. Research proves it’s bad for their health. But we also know how difficult it is to give up. We can give advice on how to minimise the risks to your child’s health and, if you want to give up, we’ll support you all the way.

making friends

Making friends

Having a baby can mean a big change in your life. Maybe you’re losing your old work or social life, but you don’t need to be isolated. All our groups are friendly, relaxed places where you can meet other people in your situation. Just talking about any worries or concerns with someone who knows what you’re going through can be a big help. Our groups are great places to make new friends. We’ll always make you feel welcome.

Serious health concerns

We can also help with other health concerns, like post-natal depression, child development or alcohol or drug dependency.
