Families
Families come in all shapes, sizes and ages.
Whatever yours looks like, we have something for you.
Family problems
We support and help families in crisis, for example where there’s domestic violence or drug or alcohol problems. If this is you, don’t suffer alone. You can talk to us in complete confidence.
Dads are important, too
Sometimes dads are overlooked, but they’re an important part of family life. That’s why we run special sessions for dads, particularly in the evenings and some weekends. It’s also a chance for dads to meet and chat with other dads.
Childcare
We can give you advice on how to juggle work and childcare. We’ve got information on how to find a good childminder or nursery, as well as how to become a childminder yourself. We can help you with Working Tax Credits and thinking through returning to work. We also have good quality childcare at the nurseries in our Peter Pan and Cherry Trees centre for local children aged three months to five years.
If we don’t know, we’ll find out
We work closely with lots of other organisations, both locally and nationally. If you’ve got a problem to which we don’t know the immediate answer, we’ll find out. We already have close links with the toy library at Southway Resource Centre and Bedford Library and can get information from national groups like the National Society for the Prevention of Accidents.
Family days out
We organise family days out. We’ve been to Standalone Farm, Woburn Safari Park and seen Father Christmas at Thurleigh. Look out for our special days out throughout the year.
